HARMONY RANCH

  Mountain Ranch

Description

Harmony Ranch is a non-profit horsemanship program offering recreational therapeutic services to children and adults with or without special needs. Our program provides an atmosphere of safety, understanding and ethical treatment of humans and horses engaged in equine-assisted activities.

We are a Member Center of PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) formed in 1969, previously known as NARHA. PATH Int. is the leading overseer of therapeutic horseback riding and offers continuing education andcertification for our instructors. Tara Glessman, or Executive Director, is a PATH Int. certified trainer.

BENEFITS INCLUDE:
  • Self-esteem, self discipline, motivation, and increased concentration.
  • Horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves a rider's body in a manner similar to a human gait. Riders with physical disabilities often show improvement in balance, flexibility, and muscle strength.
  • Riders who have emotional challenges can form a unique relationship with the horse that can lead to increased confidence and patience.
