Description

Calaveras Big Trees State Park is a state park of California, United States, preserving two groves of giant sequoia trees. It is located 4 miles northeast of Arnold, California in the middle elevations of the Sierra Nevada. The park was established in 1931 and is the oldest state park in California.

The park contains two groves of giant sequoia trees: the North Grove and the South Grove. The North Grove is the larger of the two groves and is home to some of the most famous giant sequoia trees in the world. The South Grove is smaller than the North Grove, but it is also home to some beautiful giant sequoia trees.

In addition to the giant sequoia trees, Calaveras Big Trees State Park also features a variety of other plants and animals. The park is home to over 1,000 species of plants, including several rare and endangered species. The park is also home to a variety of animals, including deer, bears, raccoons, and foxes.

Day use areas are open sunrise to sunset, and camping all hours March through November.
