San Andreas - Main Street, north side
Description:
Historic Main Street in San Andreas, part of Historic Highway 49, contains many buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Businesses of note pictured: * Calaveras Enterprise - the publisher of the Calaveras Enterprise and Sierra Lodestar newspapers * Black Bart inn Restaurant Shops in larger buildings now got their start decades ago on Main Street such as Kellys Drug store, Treats General Store, and of course the county Courthouse and Jail. The tree next to the Enterprise Main office has been a place where local obituary notices are pinned, a quaint cary-over for many generations. I find the Italian inspired ceramic tile decor on the Black Bart building quite interesting.
