Description
Table Mountain is an inverted valley - where millions of years ago, lava filled an ancient riverbed, the surface around that river eroded and left an elevated valley.
There is a trail up to the top of table mountain for hiking. It is reported it is a great place for views of the area including New Melones Lake and Jamestown but the gravel road to the trailhead and the climb may not be for everyone. (see website for more details)
