Description
The Calaveras County Fair is in part a Celebration of Mark Twain: The fair is most famous for its frog jumping competition, inspired by Mark Twain's short story "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County." The competition has been held since 1862, making it the longest continuously running frog jumping competition in the world.

Beyond the Jumps:  While the frog jumps are a highlight, the fair offers a variety of classic fair fun like:
  • Carnival rides and games
  • Live music
  • Goofy competitions
  • Livestock shows
  • Rodeo
  • Local artist, wine, and agriculture exhibits

A Blend of History and Entertainment:  Held near the charming Gold Rush town of Angels Camp, the fair offers a nostalgic feel, transporting you back to a simpler time.
